How to Remove the NavBar on Blogger

Removing the navbar along the top of your blogger blog is a very simple task but will make your blog look a lot more professional and less like a boring free Blogger blog.

It was one of the first things I improved on my blog when I first got it and I'd definitely put it at the top of your to do list (especially as it will only take a moment).

What is the NavBar?

The navbar for anyone who doesn't know is basically where you can do some functions to do with Google and Blogger. These include:

- Sharing the page you're on
- Creating a new post
- Editing you blog design via a shortcut
- Moving to the 'next' blog along
- Searching your blog
- A shortcut to blogger.com
- The ability to sign out

How to remove or change it?

After learning about what the NavBar is, you have probably decided whether you actually want it on your blog or not. Below are the instructions for editing or removing the NavBar from your blogger blog:

  1. Select the blog you want to edit on your Blogger dashboard.
  2. Find the Layout section down the side of the dashboard.
  3. Click on the widget called Navbar along the top.
  4. Select None (or a colour).
If you do still want to see the navbar, you can change its colour. Rather than selecting none you would select the colour you would want it to be. You can choose blue, tan, black, silver, transparent light or transparent dark.

Now save your Layout and go to your blog to makesure that the Navbar really has disappeared (or changed colour).

I hope this was a useful little tutorial for Blogger. If there are anymore ideas for tutorials or advice you would like to see on the blog, post your ideas in the comments section below.
